- Ancient and Medieval Ethiopian History to 1270 by the late Sergew Hable Selassie. Despite being published in 1972, it remains the most comprehensive work on Aksumite history. The author, proficient in eight languages, draws extensively from primary sources, including Greco-Roman, Indigenous Ge'ez, Arabic, and French texts. If you plan to read just one book on Aksumite history, this should be it. Unfortunately, hard copies are rare, but it is available on archive.org.
